The Magicake are three freaky Italians: Joe, Jack and Lulu.
In a club in their city, Joe and Jack saw Lulu drunk in the toilet while she was puking, with a pair of Manolo Blahnik's shoes of a fantastic peach colour. The 2 guys realized that she must be the singer of a new music project and
they picked-her up from the loo. So the band was born in the late summer of
2002.

Una notte di fine estate, in un club della loro città, Joe e Jack incontrarono Lulu completamente ubriaca nella toilette, mentre vomitava, con un paio di scarpe di Manolo Blahnik di un fantastico color pesca. I ragazzi realizzarano che lei doveva essere la cantante di un nuovo
progetto musicale e la raccolsero dal wc. Così la band è nata alla fine
dell'estate del 2002.

During the lives shows, Dirty Lulu moves like an enraged barbie, while Joe and Jack play old keyboards from the 80's and some cool stuff from the present. Together they act in ironical and bizarre performances. On the back of the stage there are projected self-made videos created by video artists BNTMRC77& Dee-Yevotchka and the group. The show it's completed with the presence of dolly-girls/party monsters moving and acting mechanically on the pink-shock Dirty Lulu's speaking.
Durante i live shows, Dirty Lulu si muove come una barbie inferocita mentre Joe e Jack suonano vecchi tastieroni anni '80 e altra strumentazione del presente. Dietro le loro bizzarre ed ironiche performances sono proiettati i video realizzati dai videoartisti BNTMRC77&Dee-Yevotchka e dalla band stessa. Gli shows sono spesso arricchiti dalla presenza di ragazze-bambola e party monsters che si muovono meccanicamente al ritmo della voce rosa shocking di Dirty Lulu. |
In Italy they conquered Milan in clubs as Rocket and Glitter Revolution and fashion magazines as Caffelatte and ph+txt; Bologna in the cool monthly one-night pop-Up, Rome, Turin and Club Le Pulp in Paris. The magicake are celebrated as the only new Italian electro shining band.
In Italia hanno conquistato Milano in clubs come il Glitter ed il Rocket ed in fashion magazines quali Caffelatte e ph+txt, Bologna nella one-night mensile PopUp, Roma, Torino, ed il Club Le Pulp di Parigi. I The Magicake sono celebrati come la sola electro band italiana nascente.
